It is the only word I can use to describe our security network whenever i remember the words of the IG. He said that the Policemen that went to arrest the lynched Aluu 4 were chased away by the mob.
Our security network in this country is a big disgrace. This is what happens in a country where people are proud to fail. Where there is apathy in every sector of government.
I don't want to blame the IG alone, But each and every person that ought to ensure that we have an effective police force. Those people that ought to make sure our police are properly trained and equipped. It is disheartening to hear very bad stories daily of the activities of some of our poorly trained police officers. They are only seen poorly dressed,incompetent bribe-takers. Only few police officers are truly proud of wearing the uniforms. I wouldn't blame them because they are hardly retrained,poorly equipped,inadequately renumerated,they will be forgotten once they die in active service and their family would most likely suffer. They are sent with batons,to fight criminals with ak47 and machine guns. They send a police that has never seen a bomb before to detonate one. What a big joke.
Yet you see people siphoning police funds and retirement benefits to private accounts without being prosecuted.
Its a huge disgrace that from the moment the boys were beaten to the time they were burnt,our security officers could not stop them.
Somebody please tell me,what is the role of the police service commission?
